SYNOPSIS
The story of the rural community of Warren County that mobilized to fight the state of North Carolina’s
toxic PCB landfill in 1982.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR / PRODUCER
I am a filmmaker, photographer, and visual artist based in Oxford, Mississippi. I earned an M.F.A. in
Documentary and Experimental Art from Duke University and now works as Assistant Professor of Film
Production and Southern Studies at the University of Mississippi. My documentary films and photographs
often focus on topics of identity, counter-culture communities, social justice, and environment and have
been shown in festivals and museums around the world. In recent years I have received multiple awards
for my documentary works including the Soul of Southern Film Award from Indie Memphis Film Festival,
History+ Best Documentary Award from the North Carolina Museum of History, and a SE Emmy
nomination. In 2025, I was an Artist in Residence at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel in Shanghai and in 2022 a
resident artist at Crosstown Arts in Memphis, TN.
