Painting JoAnne Kohara Thompson 8 sessions $200 Saturdays 9:30 - 11:30 February 6 - March 27 Basic Acrylic Painting- This class is designed to teach the fundamentals of acrylic for inexperienced students. Learn techniques, understand how to see like an artist, expand your imagination and do exercises to help you paint creatively. Demonstrations and short critiques will help you to refine techniques and designs. Material List provided for this class. Photography Susan Stevison 6 sessions $200 Tuesdays 6-8 p.m. Feb. 9 - March 16 Beginning Photography - This class is designed as a basic primer to create better photographs with your single Lens Reflex Camera (required). Students will learn good photographic composition concepts using their own digital camera. Ceramics Jenise Jeansonne 8 sessions $225 Mondays 6-8 p.m. February 8 - March 29 Hand Built Ceramics - using pinch, coil and slab techniques, participants will create hand built ceramic forms WITHOUT using the potters wheel. Supplies include one 25lb. bag of clay. Karen Robinson 8 sessions $225 Saturdays 9:30 -11:30 a.m. February 4 - March 27 Intro to Wheel Thrown Ceramics (Daytime). A wheel throwing class tailored for beginners to intermediate. Discover the fun you can have making basic forms like cups and bowls on the potters wheel. Supplies include one 25lb. bag of clay. Shelly Strange 8 sessions $225 Mondays 6-8 p.m. February 8 - March 29 Raku - Discover raku firing techniques where red hot pots are taken out of the kiln to create a finished look unlike any other ceramic style. Supplies include one 25lb.bag of clay. Carol Steele 4 sessions $125 Thursdays 6-8 p.m. Feb. 25 - March 19 Surface Techniques - Some prior experience with clay needed. Learn about various raised surface techniques including scraffito and slip trailing. Supplies include one 25lb. bag of clay. Bob Howell 8 sessions $225 Thursdays 6-8 p.m. Feb. 11 - April 1 Advanced Ceramics - Ceramics experience required. Learn advanced methods of ceramic forms, glaze recipes, and more. Push your ceramics skills to the limit. Supplies include one 25lb.of clay. Collage Barry Owen 8 sessions $200 Mondays 6 - 8 p.m. February 8 - March 29 Mixed Media Collage. Using a variety of materials, including cast paper and paper mache, students will explore the creative possibilities of assemblage and mixed media collage. Students will purchase their own supplies for this course from a list provided by the instructor. Printmaking Erica Terluin 8 sessions $200 Thursdays 6-8 p.m. February 11 - April 1 Relief Printmaking - Block prints of all sorts; wood, linoleum etc... Learn the art of multiple print process. Some of the procedure will utilize the printing press but not all as the print may be rubbed or pressed by hand using simple tools. Erica Terluin 8 sessions $200 Tuesdays 6-8 p.m. February 9 - March 30 Bookmaking- This class will introduce students to the tools, techniques, and terminology of traditional hand bookbinding. Students will build a variety of blank book structures, and leave with a thorough knowledge of sound bookbinding construction methods. Supply list provided. TO REGISTER PLEASE CALL 318-473-2670.
